Day 5

Let’s explore Southern Puglia! Our local guide will take us through a few of our favourite areas in Southern Puglia. We’ll stop by the workshop of a local weaving and fabric cooperative to watch a demonstration before we arrive in the beautiful seaside town of Otranto with some time to wander. Pressed against clear Adriatic waters at Italy’s easternmost point, Otranto’s whitewashed medieval core makes a great base for exploring Salento’s windswept coast.

This morning we dive into fibre sculpture as Maryanne will be teaching you about many different techniques to make pieces such as tassels, wrapping and garlands. After lunch you will have free time to continue working on your weaving pieces. Later this afternoon local women from town will come to this house and we will have a traditional pasta making workshop!

Day 7

Today our local guide will take you to the beautiful town of Lecce, known as the “southern Florence” filled with Baroque architecture. You’ll have a guided walking tour, enjoy a local lunch and then have some free time to shop and relax before returning to the house.

Where We’re Staying

Our 16th century property is located in a small town in Southern Puglia. The palazzo was renovated by architect Federico Pace, with refined character while still embracing the roots of a traditional country house. The front of the property faces onto a beautiful town square, its location makes it easily walkable to local bakeries, churches, quiet piazzas and restaurants. The back of the house features gardens, terraces and a private pool.
