SCOTTISH SODA BREAD

A simple recipe for soda bread from The Dell Abernathy

250g plain flour

250g wholemeal flour

150g rolled oats

15g baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp honey

1 tbsp treacle (molasses)

500ml milk

Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl. Stir honey and molasses into the milk then add to dry ingredients. Mix until dry ingredients are all incorporated. It will be quite wet. Transfer mixture into a loaf tin or onto a baking tray and bake for 30-40 mins, or until baked through (a skewer comes out clean). Bon Appetite!
