Boulenc Pany Café- pizza and other delicious foods- good for brunch, lunch, or casual dinner
Bodaega- great bakery, good for coffee or lunch
Cafeto and Baristas- great for early morning coffee. Just around the corner
Casa Taviche - casual eatery, good for lunch or dinner, walkable from the hotel*
Churros and Hot Chocolate: street vendor outside the entrance to the Botanic Gardens
Cobarde Oaxaca- Delicious Asian/Indian fusion with a view of Santo Domingo. Great for drinks or dinner
Crudo. Fusion of Japanese and traditional Oaxacan cuisine. Reservations required
Itanoni- excellent for traditional breakfast. One of Alice Waters’ favorites. Taxi ride away
Kiyo Café- Trendy new addition to the coffee scene. Just down thew street
La Atoleria in Tierra del Sol- Atole; a traditional drink made from corn-. Just across from the Botanic Gardens entrance
Lechoncito de Oro - Street tacos
Levadura de Olla- “A place of gastronomic inspiration and worship of the culinary roots of the Sierra Sur of Oaxaca.” Delicious innovative cuisine
Pan:am- excellent cinnamon buns and coffee, just down the street.
Onnno Loncheria- a short walk from the hotel. Delicious baking, innovative foods. Breakfast or Lunch.
Onnno Panaderia- Same owners as Onnno Luncheria. A short walk. Excellent pastries, bread and coffees
Tacos del Carmen - Street tacos

Mercados
Mercado La Merced- close to the hotel. A local’s food market, but you may also find chocolate, papel picada (paper flags for celebrations). It opens at 6 and is fun to walk through before breakfast
La Cosecha Organic Market- artisan crafts and great food, great for breakfast
Mercado Benito Juarez- Everything Oxacaqueno!- clothing, shoes, baskets, bags, textiles
Mercado Veinte de Noviembre- Mostly food- visit the Passillo de Humo for lunch
Mercado de Artesanias- Artesans from 8 different regions

Suggestions for your Free Day
Hierve el Agua (natural hot pools). This can be part of a longer day.
Monte Alban. Archaeological site. Fascinating. Visit early in the day.
Santa María Atzompa Known for its green pottery. There are also young artists making innovative black pottery.
San Augustín Etla Visit the print shop and Arts Center. Lovely village.
Oaxaca Ethnobotanical Gardens. There may or may not be tours in English, but it is worth visiting, if you are interested in gardens and horticulture.
