5 mins in the world of...Anabela Carneiro from Fieldguided

I think it was the photo below that caught my eye and began the search. Anabela Carneiro, along with her fiance, Geoff, are the folks behind Fieldguided. They are also Canadians - from Toronto, Ontario who create a line of products that are capturing the worlds interest. I spent much longer than anticipated on this post as I was caught up in the photography...and through Anabela's photographs I felt her personality. She is not pink - she is apricot, she is perpetual springtime + soft petals and her writing is light, smart + brushed with gentle wit.

This is 5 minutes in the world of Anabela.

Describe yourself in 5 words:
Impatient, intuitive, idealistic, night-owl, stubborn.

A moment that changed my life is:
Agreeing to meet my boyfriend Geoff for coffee for the very first time. As we talked, I absent-mindedly ripped the paper sleeve from my coffee into tiny little pieces.

(Geoff photographing Caitlyn's feet - with an old timey camera - which is awesome, I might add)

What 5 things during your lifetime do you want to do?
I'm the sort of person who only has vague ideas about and desires for the future, and even though I'm a Capricorn and I'm supposed to be ambitious, I tend to follow impulses and allow for things to fall into my lap. I'd like to have a home that feels like home, but that's all I've got for now.

Things you are passionate about…can't live without…things that rock your world…
Nice perfume, good movies, a book that I can get lost in, flowers with layers and layers of delicate petals, fluffy kittens, coffee, and, embarrassingly enough, I can't live without my phone, which I hardly ever use as a phone. This is starting to make me feel a bit vapid…

Any new projects you’d like to share with us?
I have a collaboration in the works that I am so excited about, but since it won't debut until the spring, I'm afraid I can't dish the dirt just yet.

Whose art/creativity/photography rocks your world?
My friends Laura Jane Faulds and Elizabeth Barker have been writing stories and essays based on Beatles songs and the second I started reading the ones they've released so far, I was head over heels in love.

What kind of music do you listen to?
I seem to have “That's No Way to Say Good-bye” by Leonard Cohen stuck in my head about 80% of my waking hours.

The book you’re reading right now is:
IQ84 by Haruki Murakami, and will be reading it for months to come.

Where in the world you have always wanted to visit?
I would love to visit Brazil, Italy, Japan, Argentina, India... although I'm game for going nearly anywhere. There are so many places in North America I’d like to visit as well, such as Savannah, Austin, and Mexico.

You just won the lottery – woohoo! – and you want to travel, where would you go?
I would go to the Yukon to see the Northern Lights.

If you could leave on a trip in 2 hours, where would you go, how would you get there and what would you pack?
If I had all the time in the world I would drive across the United States (making plenty of stops along the way) and head to California. I would probably over-pack and forget important things, because I am not very good at packing.
