How to Cook, Style and Photograph Food for a Cookbook with Aran Goyoaga | ANDROS, GREECE | JUNE 1- 6, 2020
About the trip:
“I have developed, written, styled and photographed two cookbooks. I have also contributed styling and photography for other authors’ cookbooks. There is something immensely rewarding about creating a world from start to finish with one’s vision in relation to food and environment. There are many aspects to think about and many hats to wear. I believe the key is organization and really honing down what the vision is from the very beginning, allowing always room for improvisation as things develop.”
— ARAN GOYOAGA
In this 3-day workshop, we will walk through:
- How to narrow down your book concept and create a cookbook proposal.
- How to cook, style and photograph recipes in a streamline manner.
- Creating a world through photography and words.
- Editing of content from recipes to photography.
This workshop will benefit those who are considering or actively working towards a cookbook. Whether you are doing it all yourself or having people assist in the process, it is always beneficial to understand everything that goes into creating a cookbook so you can prepare and organize.
*PLEASE NOTE: It is not necessary to be working on a cookbook as there will be plenty of skills and learning to take away from this workshop.

WHERE WE'RE STAYING:
The accommodation has a panoramic view that guarantees beautiful sunsets, with all the rooms looking over the magnificent sea. The property boasts two different salt water infinity pools, from where you can see the island of Ghiaros glimmering in the distance. Anytime is a good time to relax and have a dip in the fresh waters of our pools.
The house is surrounded by a variety of fruit trees, along with local fresh herbs and spices. With our vegetable garden, full of tomatoes from Santorini, local varieties of zucchini, and onions - our ingredients are picked freshly daily. These are all to be enjoyed in our homemade dishes and rich breakfasts served by the pool.
