What Is The Ace Camp Experience?
The Ace Camp experience is an extraordinarily friendly atmosphere, due to participants’ shared enthusiasms and the lively exchanges of ideas and lessons with the instructors. Every Ace Camp varies and are created to uncover, develop and stretch your creative and cultural imaginations. You will learn and participate in hands-on learning enriched by lectures, demonstrations and practical experience and explore a destination in a unique way.
During the longer travel experiences you will have a free day or two to explore the city you’ve traveled to either on your own, or with your new friends.
It is not only the workshop where you'll be inspired. Your journey begins when you sign up. It starts with your travel planning to collecting your supplies and countdown to take off is all part of the experience.
If you are not open to spontaneity, whims of the group or if you prefer unadulterated structure and every minute of your journey Ace Camps may be not for you. We believe going with the flow and opening to impromptu experiences creates adventure and a learning environment.
Do The Trips Include Airfare?
Travellers arrive from all over the world to begin our tours and it is not possible to include international airfare in our prices.
What Type Of Instruction Is Offered?
The retreats, workshops and journeys are filled with learning and adventures, education and fantastic opportunities to spend time with interesting and likeminded people. Some of our leaders will teach informally with a hands on in the field approach and some will have structured lectures and demonstrations.
When I sign up what's included with the fees?
Each Ace Camp is different and depends on the location. You'll find that information on the same page as the workshop details. Ace Camp Inc. fees collected in US dollars.
Who Travels With Us?
People of all ages sign up for Ace Camps - we've had travelers from 16 - 70. They are artists, professionals, chefs, photographers, authors and others who simply sign up for the adventure and to travel with people who share a common interest in learning, travel and culture. The group is often cosmopolitan. There are American and Canadian students for example, but we also have people joining us from as far away as Asia, the UK, Europe or South America. Such diversity of ages and origins makes for an enriching cultural experience and gives the opportunity for us to see creativity arising from varied sources of inspiration.
Participants must be at least 21 years.
Yes, men are most welcome to participate in the workshops!
Other Questions We're Asked
I'm A Single Traveller, Will I Be Charged A Single Supplement?
Most of our trips do not have a single supplement. This means that the accommodation is on a twin share basis and, if you are travelling on your own, you will be sharing a room with another Ace Camp traveller of the same sex. Some tours have an optional single supplement or rarely a mandatory single supplement.
Can You Help Arrange My Travel Visas?
Requirements for travel visas vary widely depending on your nationality and your destination. If you do require a visa you can arrange them yourself according to your countries requirements or use the services of a travel agent or visa processing company.
Can I Contact You To Find Out Who Is Going On The Trip?
For privacy reasons we cannot provide you with advance details on your traveling companions. However, our Ace Camps appeal to a wide range of travellers, most of whom share an adventurous spirit and are like-minded. If you're interested in meeting others booked on your upcoming trip, we often start a group page and invite those who want to introduce themselves.
Are Airport Transfers Included?
Most of our adventures do not include airport transfers and so we recommend you arrange a taxi on arrival. In some cases we will include the transportation to our accommodations as we might be in a remote location and feel this is the best way to get you there. You can find this information in each of the trips. After we get your travel plans and if we can match your flights with others we can share that information so you can ride share. (we'll check with you first, though, to see if this is something you'd like to do)
Food at Ace Camps
We Strive To Find The Freshest Food, The Most Interesting Restaurants and Cater to Your Dietary Needs.
Our Trips Have Most Meals Included - On Longer Trips You'll Have A Few Nights So You Can Head Out And Do Your Own Thing.
Most often meals are offered buffet or family style and always have a wide variety of options, including a huge organic salad with all the fixings. In the past about 10% of our attendees have been gluten-free and have raved about the food. In situations where we cook the meals you will be sent a catering form so we are aware of your needs and will be happy to organize our menu planning accordingly.
We will endeavour to cater for any dietary requirements, including vegetarians, vegans and those with special dietary needs.
What If The Meals Are Not Catered?
Good question! There are tours where we will be staying in a hotel and all of our meals will be a restaurants - most will be covered with your tour fees, however, we keep a few meals open so you can discover on your own or with someone from the group. Your tour director will have a list of restaurants that we think are best and that are recommended by the "in the know" locals. Sometimes we find the finest restaurant and book ahead for the group - but participants are free to go out on their own should they wish. We often take our dinners together although is not required.
Where We Stay
We aim high to find the best places for participants to stay according to the tour and Ace Camp experience. .
We Seek Out The Coolest Places To Stay ~ mansions, tents, historic hotels, modern condos, masseria's, hip hotels, boutique hotels and ranches. Each location is different and depends on the Ace Camp. You'll find where you'll be staying in the specific Ace Camp description.
Are the rooms shared?
Not in all circumstances but yes, mostly. Room allocation varies on the workshop so we suggest checking the specific workshop you're interested in and going from there. We have had to talk many people into sharing a room and all have been happy with the result. We encourage participants to share bedrooms as it helps create a supportive and community spirit among the group.
Can I bring my spouse, significant other, friend or pet if they are not taking the workshop?
This is always a tough question for us as we understand in some cases participants are traveling to other cities and are including the Ace Camp as part of their vacation. It depends - if the accommodation is based on double occupancy or we are staying at a house where space is limited it would be best to contact us to discuss. Remember - this is your learning time and sometimes the workshop works best when you venture on your own. We actually don't encourage it - and hope you can meet up with your spouse or travel partner after the Ace Camp.

How To Register
How To Register for Ace Camps?
- Find the ACE CAMP you are interested in.
- Read the TRIP OUTLINE, PAYMENT DETAILS + ITINERARY specific to the ACE CAMP you would like to attend. There is a link to the REGISTRATION page on each camp.
- Fill out the REGISTRATION FORM for the ACE CAMP.
Please note that sometimes this takes a day or so to respond. We will send you an email when your application has been accepted and with your acceptance you'll be sent information regarding your deposit for placement in the camp.
- Send initial deposit. Payment can be made by cheque, PayPal and credit card.
- You will be invoiced for your final payment as indicated on your Ace Camp description.
- We will notify you when to book your travel arrangements.
Prior to your departure you will be sent a document called: "Preparing for Your Journey to...(insert your destination)" which will include an up to date itinerary, supplies you may need to bring, directions to the accommodation and how to get there from the airport, what to bring, what to wear and any other information we think necessary.
How Does The Waitlist Work?
When an Ace Camp fills, we start a wait list. There is no charge to be on the waiting list. If space becomes available, we contact the first person on the list. That person then has 24 hours to let us know before we move on to the next person. If a space becomes available within 30 days of the start of a workshop, the registrar will contact all persons on the wait list by email and the space will be given to whomever contacts us first.
If you may need to cancel we will do our best to try and fill your spot
Please note: Some trips are non-refundable under any circumstance and are listed in the description of the specific Ace Camp. Please be sure you can make it before you register. The reason for this is most times we have to pay our suppliers and providers in advance.
All individual cancellations must be made in writing and are effective upon receipt.
Cancellation penalties for individuals are:
At any time after you have made your deposit, a $250.00 transactions fee incurred per person applies. The camps are non-refundable inside of 90 days as payments for the group travel have been made to our suppliers. Trips that require a travel visa are non-refundable due to the process and fees required for such travel.
In some cases if a replacement is secured travellers will get a refund less $250.00 and less any fees that were incurred to make the transaction. However, participants may choose to keep their deposit in an ACE CAMP INC. holding account less the administration fee of $250.00.
Cancellation by ACE CAMPS INC.
Ace Camps Travel Company reserves the right to cancel any workshop/trip at any time for any reason, including if there are too few participants, or if the quality of the trip or the safety of travellers is judged by ACE CAMPS INC. in our sole discretion to be compromised. In such cases, a refund of payment received by ACE CAMPS INC. shall constitute full and final settlement. ACE CAMPS INC. is not responsible for any loss incurred on account of non-refundable or non-transferable air OR travel tickets tickets. Travel insurance is highly recommended.

The Fine Print
The terms “ACI,” “we” and “our” refer to ACE CAMP INC., a British Columbia corporation, which offers and operates all the trips listed herein. All trips are offered subject to ACI’s standard terms and conditions. Please review the terms and conditions carefully prior to completing your reservation. Some of these terms and conditions are set out below to draw your attention to the fact that our obligations to you are limited.
Once the trip begins, we will do everything possible to ensure your enjoyment, and we rely on you to tell us if something is not working. We look forward to a successful partnership together, and we hope that you sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.
All travelers assume the responsibility to select or design the trip most appropriate to their physical abilities and interests. Travelers are responsible for being in sufficiently good health to undertake their trip; for obtaining the appropriate medical and cancellation insurance; for studying all pre-departure information; and for acting in a manner considerate of fellow travelers and the countries visited. Travelers assume full responsibility for all risks, including but not limited to any loss, injury, death or damage to them, their family or their dependants arising in connection with their participation, or the participation of their family, in the trips, and for ensuring that they have adequate insurance coverage to cover any loss.
Any form of travel contains inherent risks and medical facilities and services may not be easily accessible and may not be sophisticated. There are other risks associated with the trips, such as theft or loss of or damage to property. Some of the services provided in connection with the trip, including lodging, transportation, food service, and local tours and activities, are obtained from independent suppliers over whom ACI has no control.
Although ACI endeavours to choose appropriate independent suppliers to provide services on the trips, ACI has no right to control their operations and therefore makes travel arrangements for the trips on the condition that ACC will not be liable for any act or omission of any independent supplier or any unrelated third party. The services provided by independent suppliers are subject to the laws of the place where the services are provided, and any conditions imposed by those suppliers. The liability of the independent suppliers may be limited by their tariffs, conditions of carriage, tickets and vouchers, and international conventions and agreements.
Travelers further agree that they will indemnify and hold ACI harmless in respect of any claims arising in connection with the trip made by: i) third parties, which arise from the misconduct of the travelers; ii) the traveler’s family members, dependants or heirs, iii) third parties, which the traveler, their estate, their family members, dependants or heirs have sued, if damages are recovered from such third parties, to the extent the third party obtains any indemnification from ACI; except where the loss, injury, death or damage is caused by the reckless or fraudulent conduct on the part of ACI, or their employees, guides, shareholders, officers or directors.
ACI reserves the right to decline accepting or retaining any traveler whose health or actions in ACI’s sole judgment impede the operation of a trip or the welfare or enjoyment of fellow travelers.
